Mineral Technologies was contracted to supply a technology package for a 550 tph (3.5 Mtpa) fine iron ore beneficiation plant for the Herculano Mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil.Details
Mineral Technologies conducted onsite testwork to evaluate beneficiation of the fine iron ore fraction. This work was followed by testwork conducted at the Fundacao Goresex research laboratory in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil.Mineral Technologies provided design engineering services for process plant and materials handling equipment.
The scope of supply included:
- Beneficiation process flowsheet design for up to three feed streams
- Process engineering with process guarantee
- Mechanical, structural and civil design for the process plant including feed hopper, trommel screen, tailings and concentrating stacking
- Preparation of equipment specifications for tender purposes
- Assistance with analysis of tenders received from third party equipment vendors
- Site inspection by structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to confirm construction according to design
- Plant commissioning to prove plant production and performance
- Operator training
