Highlights
Superior TechnologyFollowing the successful construction and commissioning of the 8Mtpa Iron Ore Concentrator at Bloom Lake, Consolidated Thompson Mines (now a Cliffs Natural Resources company) undertook to build a second Concentrator at the same site in 2010. The project is currently in the construction phase and due to be commissioned in January 2013. Following extensive test work on site during 2010–2011, the MD WW6+ wash water spiral was selected for its proven metallurgical results and ‘operator friendly’ease-of-use. The order comprises 512 twin start 7 turn WW6+ roughers and 192 twin start 7 turn WW6+ scavengers treating slurry from upstream hydrosizer classifiers. Primary and secondary distributors as well as product launders will also be supplied. In addition to supplying spiral equipment, Mineral Technologies continues to work closely with the engineering contractor to ensure the spiral circuits meet the design criteria, delivering an efficient and problem free installation and commissioning phase. |
